Many people ask if acting classes are worth the time and money it takes. While some people are naturally talented, you still need to practice and train. Investing in acting classes is one of the best investments you can make in yourself or your child. Plus, acting classes/ training is not just for actors, or people who think they might want a career in acting! Acting classes can benefit EVERYONE. Let's face it, acting is fun and rewarding.

It's never too early to follow your dreams. If you have a child that is interested in acting, whether in film, TV, or Theatre, and/or want to brush up on your skills, they NEED to be in this class! This ongoing monthly class will use scene study, monologues, and related exercises to develop each actor's ability to listen, live in the moment, build confidence and trust one's instinct.

Meet Our Instructors
Tangie Brickhouse-Beaty
Bold! Innovative! Creative! Revolutionary! Artistic! All of these terms are used to describe Tangie Brickhouse-Beaty! Tangie is the owner and founder of WOW Productions, which is one of the fastest-growing and largest urban production companies in the state of SC”, as well as Executive Director of WOW Performing Arts Center, located in Columbia, SC. As a national award-winning playwright, producer, writer, director, film screenwriter, and casting director coupled with over 20 years of experience, Tangie has produced over 30 theatre productions, Co-written three (3) film projects, a TV series, coordinated national touring stage plays, and cast for a number of film, TV, stage plays, commercials and voice-over projects. Tangie is proud to claim her mark in history as being the first African American Woman to open the first Urban Black Box Theatre in South Carolina and founded the first drive-time gospel radio station, Continual Praise Radio Broadcast, in Bridgeport, CT.

Tangie born and raised in Norwalk, CT, currently resides in Columbia, SC and is the proud wife of Thomas Beaty for over 25 years. Together they have 2 amazing sons, James (29) and Isaiah (23), and the cuties grandson in the world, Elijah (7).
Kit Phillips, a professionally trained actor with over 20 years of experience is no stranger to the entertainment industry. Some of her recent projects include principle roles in the films Bermuda by Laura Valtorta and the film Test. Kit is as an ensemble player with Charlotte, NC improv group Sudden Depth, Hawaii’s own In Yo Face Improv, and Kansas City’s The Roving Imp. Kit has entertained thousands of live theatre audiences across the country. One of Kit’s most notable role was the opportunity to be selected to play Louise in Carol Burnett’s biographical play Hollywood Arms.
Kit successfully obtained her B.S. in Theatre Performance from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. While pursuing her degree, Kit studied improv with Keith Johnstone and camera acting with Andy Garrison. Kit moved on to further her acting career in Hawaii and studied film acting with veteran TV actors Wayne Ward and Scott Rodgers. Kit also could be found working on the hit TV series, Hawaii 5-0 and more
Currently, Kit is utilizing her training and experience and her grounding in technique and skills to coach and assist actors seeking to sharpen their skills by learning the craft of acting for theatre, Improv, TV and film arenas.
